Expanding brackets

Some\times when we are manipulating equations, we need to expand brackets.

For example, we may have to expand $3(x + 5)$

$3(x + 5)$ is the same as $3\times(x + 5)$

When we expand brackets, every term in the bracket is multiplied by the term outside the bracket

$3(x + 5)$

$= 3\times x + 3\times5$

$= 3x +$
